WPP Mental Health Allies

Mental Health Allies is a WPP-wide wellbeing and mental health initiative around UK, US and Singapore companies, created for employees to feel healthy, supported and safe. It is an employee campaign that aims to eliminate the stigma around mental health, increase awareness about the importance of good mental health and enables employees to support each other with confidential peer-to-peer chats.

We created an identity for this initiative, accompanied by multiple printed and digital deliverables that will help connect the audience with their local organisation. The main visual of the Mental Health Allies is meant to be distinctive with a sense of calmness and relief, through the use of soft colours, shapes and typography. By using different messages and tips to cope with mental health, we hope to inspire those who struggle daily and to seek help and support.

Our goal was to create a visual identity that was fresh, creative and engaging, as well as creating supportive assets that can be easily scaled and shared across different deliverables, but still convey the message in a simple and easy way. We used simple graphic elements from the main branding of WPP to convey this and applied noise texture to add some organic and human touch into these abstract visuals.

We created six different posters to launch the programme and spread awareness around the companies, with soft shapes that express the key message in an abstract way, while also featuring a QR code to connect with an ally. The QR code leads users to the main internal company website, where they can find the directory with the whole list of allies and additional information about their workplace-based initiatives.

We created additional collaterals to be distributed around offices, such as a brochure, cards and a flyer poster with tips and reflections to guides and challenge towards an environment where staff feel supported to be their real, authentic selves.

We have been working on the digital element of this initiative, creating the programme pages accessible to everyone in our internal company website, explaining the scope and objectives of the Mental Health Allies campaign in an easy-to-read manner. These are intended to be the main access point for users to contact allies within the organisation, sign up for events and download branded templates from the campaign.

Additional digital assets we have been working on, include a social media template for Instagram and templates in PowerPoint and Keynote formats, meant to be used by the main Mental Health Allies internal teams.
